6 Things Christians Should Just Stop Saying…

It is time. No, it is past time. Christians must stop saying the following things. 1. The Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God. It isn’t inerrant and not likely even in the “original manuscripts.” But then, I cannot … Continue reading

The Winter of Our Discontents…

That’s Shakespeare. Sigmond Freud wrote of “Civilization and Its Discontents.” I could write about people and their malcontents. I’d start with my own. But they’re everywhere, are they not? Night before last, my wife and I shared a Valentine’s dinner … Continue reading

I Wish Christian Preachers Would Just Shut Up…

That sounds harsh and I do not mean for it to be unkind. But frankly, I’m growing exceedingly weary of the nonsense that uninformed and misinformed Christian ministers wail about almost continuously. It used to be the Bible that most of them preached even when they knew so little about it. Now, it’s politics, too. And, the mixing of the two is pushing me to the brink.
Let me explain. Continue reading

Why Christianity is Dying While Spirituality is Thriving!

The title of this post alone will put some branches of the Christian church immediately on the defense. The fact is, however, I travel all over this country coaching religious leaders and consulting with congregations of every stripe imaginable. And, … Continue reading
